With the help of her mother and sister, Alexa (age 11) turned her passion for making slime into a way to help kids get the nutrition they need to thrive. Since 2021, Alexa has been selling her hand-crafted slime in neighborhood parks, playgrounds, craft fairs, and online (brooklynslime.com). She has also been hosting slime making workshops where she teaches other kids how to make slime.
What started out as a pandemic hobby has now grown into a full-fledged small business donating all profits to No Kid Hungry. Alexa says, “I wanted to share my love of slime while helping kids.”
Alexa has now made over 1,000 slimes and contributed over $5,000 to support No Kid Hungry. And every year she donates left over slime to a local shelter to create some holiday cheer!
